He said the 28-year-old has no pending matters or prior convictions.The attorney told the court that his clients are roommates who reside at Lot 3207 Lamaha Park, Georgetown.Thomas claimed that prior to the court appearance his clients were being investigated in relation to alleged possession of illegal ammunition but “lo and behold you come to court and it’s a robbery under arms charge.”The lawyer further stated that Allen and Pollydore had no knowledge of this robbery charge until yesterday, and claimed that although they were placed on an identification parade, neither of them was identified.“I’m surprised that they would charge them with robbery when they weren’t identified on an ID parade and there was no confession. There is no evidence against them,” said Thomas. He requested reasonable bail.The lawyer assured that his clients will return to court if allowed their pretrial liberty and added that they are willing to report to the nearest police station as a condition for bail.Police Prosecutor, Corporal Deniro Jones objected to bail, however, citing the nature and gravity of the charge. Jones placed emphasis on the stiff penalty the charge attracts and added that the address they provided to the court differs from the one given to the police.Prosecutor Jones further stated, that violence was used in the commission of the crime and that the victim positively identified the accused on Close Circuit Television (CCTV) system footage.Magistrate McLennan granted the Prosecution’s request and the men were remanded to prison until December 8.
