Police are looking for a 32-year-old East Canje taxi driver and his 13-year-old pregnant lover.According to reports the girl who hails from a village in the Berbice River lives with her mother who works at a popular hotel in New Amsterdam and other siblings in a village in East Canje.According to reports the girl and the man were seeing each other since she was 12 years old and the man were repeatedly warned to desist from the relationship.The matter came to a head on Friday last when the now pregnant girl went to New Amsterdam to join the clinic.Officials of the clinic noticed that the expectant mother looked pretty young and subsequently found out that she was only 13.The matter was referred to the Probation and Welfare Department who after subsequent investigation found out that the girl was pregnant for the taxi driver. The matter was then referred to the Central Police station.The couple was then arrested.
