A 23-year-old Coomaka Berbice River resident,2018 NFL Draft Jersey, George Denhart, was on Monday sentenced to four years in jail and fined a total of $1,1M by Magistrate Krisendat Persaud when he appeared before him at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to being in possession of 1kg and 50 grams of marijuana.Prosecutor Corporal Roberto Figueira told the court that early yesterday around 5.00 hrs, a mobile police patrol was doing its rounds when in the vicinity of the New Amsterdam Market on Strand Street, New Amsterdam. The Magistrate then imposed the custodial sentence and ordered that he pays three times the street value of the drug.
