The Youth Entrepreneurial Skills Training (YEST) programme is back and this time 300 Guyanese youths are expected to benefit when the programme kicks off.The young people from across the country will have the opportunity to hone their skills and learn new ones; thanks to the Ministry of Education’s Department of Culture, Youth and Sport programme.This time around, the training will be residential and is scheduled to last 10 months.According to an official from the Department of Culture, Youth and Sport,Jerseys NFL Wholesale, the programme is open to Guyanese, ages 16 to 25 years old. Before acceptance into the programme, the students are expected to undergo an entrance examination. These exams, the official said, will be conducted throughout the country at nearly 50 locations. These exams will begin on June 27 and end on July 12.Meanwhile, the Kuru Kuru Training Centre, located on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway,Jerseys NBA China, will become the home to these students during the 10-month programme.According to the ministry official, a full complement of lecturers is already onboard. In fact, some of these lecturers are graduates of the Kuru Kuru Training Centre.Additionally,Alexander Mogilny Jersey, a number of the graduating students will receive work study attachments.The courses being offered are Business Studies, Garment Construction,NFL Jerseys China, Carpentry, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Masonry, Electrical Installation,Dale Hawerchuk Jersey, Welding and Fabrication,Wholesale Jerseys, Plumbing and Sheet Metal, Furniture Making, and Motor Mechanics.The YEST programme was established as a unit under the former Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport in 2000. The unit emerged from what was formerly the Guyana National Service. It aims to create a link between skills training and entrepreneurship and boost the employment opportunities available to the youths of Guyana.Other than the Kuru Kuru Training Centre, the Sophia Training Centre in Georgetown is also used as a training facility.Over the years, the programme has spawned hundreds of successful graduates.
