Popular businessman and proposed house developer, Fazil Ramzan, who appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive- Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, last,? charged with four counts of obtaining money by false pretence, was again in court yesterday to answer four similar charges, this time before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.The 61-year-old, who owns the popular claybrick factory located at Canal No.2 Polder, was slapped with four new counts of obtaining money by false pretence.Ramzan is accused of obtaining $3M from George Grant between September 1, 2008 and April 17,Wholesale Jerseys, 2009,Discount NFL Jerseys, with the intent of defrauding Grant.Another charge stated that on April 29, 2010, Ramzan allegedly acquired $600,000 form Joyce Persaud, with the intent to defraud.The penultimate charged read to the accused stated that between March 1,Discount Nike Air Force One Shoes, 2008 and March 31, 2008, he obtained $425,600 for Antoinette Louis,Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale, also with fraudulent intent.The fourth charge read to Ramzan accused him of obtaining $830,Wholesale Jerseys,000 from Kean Mayers between January 12, 2009 and April 20, 2009.All the charges brought against the businessman again came out of an agreement of which he was supposed to build and make available homes for the victims at Sara Johanna, East Bank Demerara. He was expected to have these homes available within a six-month period. All charges against Ramzan were indictable and he was not required to plead.In a bail application, attorney at law Sase Gunraj told the magistrate that his client is not a flight risk and he had made arrangements to compensate some of the victims by having their monies refunded or by delivering the houses,Wholesale Cheap Jerseys, Gunraj also told the court that his client cannot do the transactions if he remains in police custody. He also told the court that his client is gravely ill.Police Prosecutor Venetta Pindar objected to bail, again stating that more charges of a similar nature are expected to be brought against Ramzan.Ramzan was then remanded to prison and is expected to make his next court appearance on May 31.
