However, bail was opposed to by Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith who told the court that “her learned friend is telling a different story” from what really transpired.She further told the court that there is an allegation and it would be backed up in court in due time.The prosecutor further stated that the men were caught when they tried to escape a “drag net” which was set up. Griffith posited that $200,000 was found in one of the defendant’s possession. Bail was denied and the defendants are expected to make their next court appearance on February 16.Another rank had appeared a day before to answer the same charged.The policemen were placed under close arrest after they were allegedly nabbed attempting to collect bribe from Shepherd last week.Initial reports are that on Wednesday last, the ranks had arrested Shepherd in a section of Greater Georgetown with a quantity of marijuana in his possession.Kaieteur News was told that Shepherd had offered the policemen a sum of money in exchange for his freedom, but the ranks greedily demanded more money from Gavin Shepherd.Shepherd reportedly left to collect the money, but tipped off a police officer about the deal.When the TSU ranks attempted to collect the cash,Authentic MLB Jerseys Online, they were confronted by some of their colleagues.
