The preliminary inquiry into the Kaieteur News pressmen killings continued again yesterday before Magistrate Nigel Hawke, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.However, the session lasted a mere 15 minutes because pertinent witnesses were not present in court.The prosecution is currently seeking to bring the preliminary inquiry to an end with the help of Savatri Tarwattie, also known as “Lisa”; Esther Mohamed of Eccles; Mark Benjamin, Rickford Spellman, and Collette Daniels of Norton Street,NFL Jerseys China, Bagotstown; and Troy Bacon, also of Norton Street,Wholesale Jerseys, Bagotstown.These people are asked to contact the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court immediately.After learning that the witnesses were not present,Cheap Jerseys 2018, the magistrate who was obviously peeved, enquired from Police Prosecutor Robert Tyndall, “Whether he knows that he (the magistrate) would be leaving the jurisdiction” permanently at month end.Attorney at law Compton Richardson, in his address to the court, opted for the matter to be put down until Monday to facilitate the prosecution finding the witnesses they require.He further stated, that he does not see why the witnesses aren’t coming and questioned if the witnesses were ever summoned. Richardson opined that he was being “fooled” every time he comes to deal with these matters.Richardson said that a number of witnesses were called and no one showed up.“My worship, on the next date if these witnesses aren’t present, I would call for the matter to be dismissed, and the Director of Public Prosecutions can do whatever she wants.”Magistrate Hawke interjected and said that he happens to be between a “rock and hard place” because he is forced to finish all preliminary inquires which are before him, and these delays aren’t helping him in any way.The magistrate further noted that if the police are treating these men as “High Profile” prisoners surely the prosecution should stop delaying the matter.Hawke further said that the judicial system is in a serious state when it comes to them finding witnesses for preliminary inquiries.On trial for the murders are Dwight Da Silva, Quincy Evans and “Nasty-man”, a juvenile. Jermaine “Skinny” Charles, now deceased, had also been charged for the murders. He was cross-examined by Attorney at law Compton Richardson.The Lance Corporal also told the court about his role in the investigation into the August 8, 2006, slaying of the pressmen at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.The preliminary inquiry had been placed on hold after Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys was involved in a shooting incident.A Police Inspector along with a Corporal has testified in the matter.Dwight Da Silva,Cheap NFL Jerseys, Quincy Evans and “Nasty Man”, are accused of killing five pressmen. Richard Stewart, Shazim Mohamed, Chetram Persaud, Eion Wegman and Mark Maikoo. The victims were all shot at the Kaieteur News’ Eccles facility.
