A Corentyne labourer was sent to jail for 15 years after he pleaded guilty for the 2007 killing of a 16-year-old boy who had run to the rescue of his stepfather.Justice Winston Patterson, presiding at the Berbice High Court,NFL Jerseys From China, imposed the sentence on Marlon Seeteram, 34,Cheap Arizona Diamondbacks Hoodies, of King Street, Williamsburg, Corentyne,College Jerseys, who pleaded guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter.Seeteram was accused of killing 16-year-old Daneshwar Sookdeo on Fathers Day June 17,J.R. The accused was previously arraigned on the capital offence of murder, but when the matter was called on Wednesday he changed his plea to guilty on the lesser count.State counsel Dionne Mc Cammon told the court that on the day in question at 18:45 hrs Seetaram who lived a short distance from Sookdeo was behaving in a disorderly manner. At the said time Sookdeo’s stepfather, Rajendra Persaud, was passing and rebuked Seetaram over his behaviour.Seetaram went after Persaud and after pulling him from his bicycle, he pushed him in a drain and held his head under the water.Sookdeo upon seeing what was happening went to his stepfather’s aid. A few minutes later after ‘Screw face’ left the vicinity, Seeteram ran into Sookdeo’s yard and again attacked his stepfather.The 16-year-old once again tried to talk to the accused in an attempt to save his stepfather but he was dealt several lashes about his body with a paling stave.Seetaram then ran away, leaving Sookdeo semi conscious. The wounded teenager was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was seen by a doctor and sent away. Later in the evening he complained of feeling unwell and started vomiting. He was once again rushed to the hospital but succumbed from his injuries.A post Mortem performed on the body by Dr Vivekananda Brijmohan show that death was caused by hemorrhage to the brain and a fractured skull.
