– after airing concerns affecting teachersAfter raising concerns earlier this week of a number of issues affecting teachers in the public education system, the Guyana Teachers’ Union (GTU) was yesterday able to secure an audience with President David Granger.According to a statement out of the Ministry of the Presidency, the Head of State met with members of the GTU to discuss issues ranging from the multi-year agreement that the Union has had with the Government since 2011 to the controversial de-bunching issue. The meeting was held at the Ministry of the Presidency.In a brief comment after the meeting, President of the GTU, Mark Lyte, said that the Union is hoping to sort this matter out with the new Administration so that it can provide its membership with much-needed clarity.
