Some 679 youths received awards during theeleventh President Youth Award Republic of Guyana (PYARG) ceremony at the National Cultural Centre last Saturday.Gold awardees at PYARG award ceremony pose with President Bharrat Jagdeo, Prime Minister Sam Hinds and Min. Frank Anthony. They received awards under three different categories:? bronze, silver and gold.The bronze level had 438 awardees with eight of them receiving special awards.The silver level had a total of 191 awardees with Deopatie Dyer of a Wales unit and Aggrey Halley of East Side Youth Club being special awardees.The gold level however, had 50 awardees with two outstanding awardees being Lisa Wong of Bartica and Deon London.Linden was made the most outstanding town with the Silvertown contingent being the most outstanding unit.In addressing the participants, President Bharrat Jagdeo congratulated the awardees and expressed that the lessons they have learnt from the journey will be very important as they navigate life’s path.
