Grambling State has gone 1-13 since winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference championship in 2011, including an 0-3 record to start this season. The school fired head coach Doug Williams only two games into the season, replacing him with interim George Ragsdale.
Ragsdale's first game was a 47-34 loss to Lincoln University of Missouri,
Maglietta Juventus Bambino, a Division II team that had dropped 21 of its previous 23 games before playing Grambling. The Tigers gave up 600 yards of total offense in that game.
